La version française de ce site est en construction…:)

This is the first painting of a new serie called Folklore. I am really pleased with it, as a new world has opened to me since i started to use oil paints. It gives me a freedom  i never had before. Most of the illustrations on this site were made using water color or pencil. With the last two, when you have gone too dark, there is noreturn! Same for the light and shadows. With oil, you can change a starry night into a sunrise.

The new collection will be exploring pictures of women from around the world and their power, beauty, strength, vulnerability… I will also introduce symbolism, which will come from legends of their respective countries, as well as stories, traditions. That is why Folklore. It leaves me enough freedom to be diverse , yet, there will be a connection between all the paintings and when looked at all of them together, i think the effect will be very interesting!

I will also include images of the different stages of the painting.  I find it quite fascinating to see how it started, and how it ends.

Right now i am hesitating wether or not my first one is done.
